SURIGAO CITY —The Junior Chamber International (JCI) - Surigao in cooperation with the Department of Education, the Provincial
Government of Surigao del Norte and the City Government of Surigao will hold
the search for ‘The Outstanding Students of Surigao’ (TOSS 2013).
The search aims to give due recognition to the
exemplary achievements of the students who excelled both in academics and
extra-curricular activities in and off campus. Also, this aims further to
motivate them to strive harder to attain their paramount objective and be a
role model in their respective communities.
A coordinators consultative meeting was conducted
last December 14, 2012 at Peng-U Grill this city to discuss the guidelines for
the search. This year’s search is chaired by the 2013 executive vice president
JCI Mem. Donald Ga.
The
search is open to all bonafide graduating high school students currently
enrolled in any of the schools in Surigao del Norte/Surigao City and among the
top five of the graduating class. Each participating school is entitled to a maximum
of two entries.
The
nominees must be of good moral character and without pending criminal/civil
cases; must be presently enrolled and without interruption or within the prescribed
periods; and must have excelled in both academic and extra-curricular
activities – in and off campus.
Also, they must have studied in the same school from
3rd year. Each school shall submit duly filled-up entry forms to
signify their nomination(s). Entry forms are available at the following JCI

Deadline
for submission of entries will be on or before January 18, 2013 (Friday) at the
Secretariat or the Project Chairman at DOJEZ Specialty Sarvida Street, this
city.
The
preliminary screening will be on January 19, 2013 (Sunday) at 8:00 in the
morning at the IBP building, P. Reyes Street, this city while the Final
Screening will be on February 17, 2013 (Sunday) at 8:00 in the morning still at
the IBP building.
Proclamation of Awardees and Awards
Night will be on March 16, 2013 (Saturday) at 6:00 in the evening at the
Philippine Gateway Hotel.
