Dinagat Vice Gov denies mauling 71 year old former Barangay Captain

Dinagat Islands Provincial Vice Governor Geraldine Ecleo Villaroman today denied mauling 71 year old Felicisimo Dumandan former Barangay Captain of Barangay Cuarenta in the island town of San Jose Dinagat Island province.

Villaroman alleged she gave former Barangay Captain Felicismo Delabajan Dumandan some P200,000 for repair of a PBMA chapter edifice on condition that Dumandan will put the name of the Vice Governor at the edifice but allegedly Dumandan failed to do so.

When confronted, Dumandan in front of some of Barangay Cuarenta constituents reasoned to Vice Governor Villaroman that he was not the one at fault because it was the people who did not wanted Villaroman's name be put as donor or whatever.

Villaroman claimed that when she in turn asked the people present about Dumandan's revelations, Barangay Cuarenta constituents denied Dumandan's statement.

“I lost my temper considering this is not the first time Dumandan did some mistakes to me that involves financial matters and I admit I slapped him in the face”, Villaroman claimed.

Earlier Caraga Police Regional Information Office came up with a press release coming from an official police report from Dinagat Police that a certain Geraldine Ecleo Villaroman which later turned out to be the Vice Governor mauled Felicismo Delabajan Dumandan , 71, resident of Purok 3, Barangay Cuarenta, San Jose, Dinagat Island.

The report claimed Villaroman mauled Edaman at around 9 p.m. Saturday evening at Purok 3, Barangay Cuarenta, San Jose town, capital of Dinagat islands Province.

Said Police report added that the victim sustained contusions in his face and was brought to Dinagat District Hospital for medical treatment

But the lady Vice Governor denied such report saying the medical certificate will show she did not mauled Edaman because she is a woman and could not maul the victim badly because the victim was a male.

Villaroman however admitted she has ring that might probably caused a wound at the face of the victim.

Villaroman added that when the victim was interviewed by a local radio station here in Surigao City, Dumandan allegedly uttered he was not supposed to file criminal charges against the Vice Governor but allegedly Villaroman’s mother, Dinagat Governor Glenda Ecleo and siblings particularly brother former Dinagat town Mayor BenGlen Ecleo were the ones who pushed and helped Edaman to file criminal charges against her.

Villaroman admitted she had misunderstanding with her mother, former Dinagat Congresswoman now Dinagat Governor Glenda Ecleo and her siblings.

“Pinagtulong tulungan nilang bumagsak ako at di manalo noong nakaraang May 2010 eleksyon, they spend P20-M just let me not to win the Vice Governor post, but I won as Vice Governor because people of Dinagat loves me”, Villaroman alleged.

PNA tried to reach Dinagat Governor Glenda Ecleo and former Mayor BenGlen including now Dinagat Mayor Gwendolyn Ecleo to get their side but to no avail.

PNA also tried to contact former Barangay Captain Edaman to get his side but to no avail. (PNA/Ben Serrano)
