Sealing of muzzles conducted in Surigao Norte

The sealing and marking of muzzles issued to all PNP personnel in Surigao del Norte was successfully conducted Monday morning, December 20 at the parade ground of the PNP Police Provincial Office here.

The ceremonial sealing was personally conducted by PNP Provincial Director P/Sr. Supt. Emmanuel Talento.

According to Talento, the sealing of all firearms of policemen is being done annually during the Yuletide season purposely to make sure that no policeman will fire his firearm as a way of celebrating the New Year which in no doubt has caused the lives of a number of people being hit by astray bullets due to indiscriminate firing.

Talento also said that the sealing of firearms will be simultaneously done in all provincial, municipal and city police offices.

“And any firearm that will be found with altered or tampered seal will be dealt with accordingly and whoever is the owner of the gun will face appropriate administrative charges,” Talento concluded. (PIA-Surigao del Norte)
