Ex Gov Lyndon Barbers declares Mayoralty bid

Former Gov. Robert Lyndon Barbers in a press conference Wednesday declared his intention to seek the mayoralty post in the coming 2010 general elections under the Abante Surigao party.

"I would like to announce and declare my intention of running as City Mayor of Surigao," Barbers said.

It was also revealed that Board Member Milva P. Garcia will be his Vice-Mayor.

Here's his 8 councilors, majority of them are still in office (city council) pa, mga re-electionist kumbaga:

The Barbers should give up running for office position again; they have their share that should be enough; give a change to other people you never know they have better ideas to offer the public. The chances are young politics have better idea and open minded not the same on same on old politic we have been; Now this is the time for change. If change did not happen during your term it sure not happen again if you run in office. Don’t be Grady and power hunger enough is enough you should consider of retiring and enjoy your life.

No to any Barbers in Surigao. They had their chance of doing good for the people of Surigao. But then, they never did. Barber boys, you can go back to where you were before.

Just to point out that bisan dili Barbers apil man ghapon sila sa Barbers clan and close friends ija mga running mates.

None of them actually have promoted the welfare of surigao. Ang ila ra tag apas ila kaugalingon ra, tanawa puro man tun trapo kay ang ila tag represent waya nag improve hantod kuman.

Is there no other candidates except this Barbers,? they are creating a political dynasty. are surigaonon not tired of same Barbers from day one . way back when their deceased father was still the governor, then congressman and senator his last bid before he died. why are we having the same Barbers again the ex governor to mayor? what is this? clinging to power and what else personal gain, I did not see any improvement in surigao still crowded poor urban planning and dirty. poor sanitation and sewage system. hire a good urban planner so we will be proud of surigao.
