Surigao City public market lease agreement amended

Surigao City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II and Surigao City Vice Mayor Alfonso S. Casurra traveled to Manila on July 31, 2023, to sign an amended lease agreement for the Surigao City Public Market.

The agreement, which was signed in the presence of key government officials and executives of Philippine Primark Properties Inc., marks a new era of collaboration and inclusivity for the market.

Under the amended agreement, the local government of Surigao City will assume direct responsibility for operating the public market. This will allow for broader economic opportunities within the market, as the exclusive zone that was previously designated will be eliminated.

The signing of the amended lease agreement is a testament to the dedication of Surigao City's leadership to uphold the principles of good governance and progressive policies that prioritize the welfare of the constituents. The local government is now poised to implement new measures to enhance the market's infrastructure, services, and overall accessibility, contributing to Surigao City's continued development.
