Mayor Nitoy offers reward in stabbing incident

City Mayor Ernesto Matugas has offered P50,000 for any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect who stabbed Mr. Balgamelo Cabiling Ma, his political analyst, yesterday evening.

In his statement, Mayor Matugas strongly condemned in the strongest words the senseless and dreadful incident which took part at the victim’s residence.

Ma, 59 years old, was stabbed using an improvised bladed instrument by an unidentified suspect last Monday, Nov. 22, 2010 at around 5:45pm hitting on the left-side part of the body of the victim.

The stabbing incident occurred in front of his home along Roxas corner Gonzales Streets, this city.

The victim is now recuperating at the Surigao Medical Center.

Surigao Police Station Chief PC/Insp. Charlie Cabradilla said that his connection to politics and a work-related issue at the city hall were possible motives of the crime. Cabradilla also said they are still conducting hot pursuit operation to trace the identity of the suspect. (PIA-Surigao del Norte)
