4 Surigao del Norte towns get funds for MRF construction

The provincial government of Surigao del Norte released P100,000 each to four towns in full support of the government’s environmental concern.

The Provincial Environment and Management Office (PEMO) handed down the financial assistance to the towns of Malimono, Burgos, Bacuag and Socorro to fund the construction of their respective their respective Material Recovery Facilities (MRF).

An MRF is a facility that produces fertilizer from garbage and waste materials.

Gov. Robert Ace Barbers gave MRF facility to the Provincial Jail for the prisoners use.

The provincial government has also conducted Solid Waste Management Training/Orientation Seminar to the 10 municipalities of the province.

The seminar hoped to further inform and educate the Surigaonons on proper waste disposal, said PEMO officer Antonietto Charcos. (PNA)
