BSP SDN Council arrives home

Mayor Pons Casurra, Chairman of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines Surigao del Norte Council warmly welcomed the contingent as they arrived at the city after having attended the recently concluded 26th Asia Pacific Regional Scouts Jamboree held at Mt. Makiling, Laguna on December 28, 2009 to January 3, 2010.

According to Dr. Panfilo Joerge Tremedal III, the little contingent from Surigao del Norte BSP Council numbering to only 31 scouts and scouters was chosen to be on the top five during the Grand Festival Street Dancing on the Jamboree with about 15,000 participants, to include 110 local councils and 20 foreign countries.

As the contingent arrived at the Port of Surigao onboard a Superferry ship, other members of the council accompanied the Mayor in welcoming them. (Karen Acero, LGU-Surigao City/surigaocity.gov.ph)
