Surigao mayor leads Cantiasay NHS site groundbreaking

Due to the pressing demand for a separate school building, Mayor Alfonso Pons Casurra successfully led the groundbreaking ceremony of the new school site of Cantiasay National High School at Brgy. Cantiasay, Nonoc Island this city on January 18, 2010.

The construction of the new structure will immediately commence the day after the groundbreaking as the City Mayor wanted the project to be completed before his term ends in June 2010.

Moreover, Mayor Pons wished for the students to have a more conducive place for learning due to the fact that at present, the high school is temporarily sharing an area with the elementary.

The momentous event was attended by Punong Brgy. Carlito Cuaton and council, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rovillos, Admin. Manager of PhilNiCo Ms. Asuncion Sulapas, School Head Ms. Trinidad Pulvera and teaching staff, with the high spirited students and residents of Brgy. Cantiasay, this city. (Karen T.
