Suspects in Tagana-an murder face raps

Four people are facing criminal charges before the Surigao del Norte Provincial Prosecutor's Office for the murder of a barangay chairman who was running for vice-mayor in the May 2010 elections.

Charged with murder were Pedro Cuarenta alias Loloy/Waray or Wawart; the alleged gunman; Alberto Ramos alias Babyface and two John Does.

The four are suspected of carrying out the ambush of chairman Wilbert Oregenes of Tagana-an town in Surigao del Norte last December 29.

A member of the Nacionalista Party, Oregenes was the president of Tagana-an town’s Association of Barangay Chairmen.
